Stevie's Journey

Stevie is an 11 year old cat who came to the Shelter in November 2025. Unfortunately, Stevie has a low grade heart murmur and we feel that because of this, he struggled for interest during his time here and for a long time, he actually received 0 applications.

Fortunately, for most of his time here, Stevie spent time in a foster home and his foster carer reported that he liked to take himself off to a quiet area where he won’t be disturbed for long snoozes, but was more than happy to ask for human company when in the mood and will purr away and give plenty of nose rubs! We were very surprised to find that nobody wanted to adopt him with how much of a loving and affectionate boy he is!

Everything changed after we launched an appeal to find Stevie a home on our social media channels. Once our followers learnt of Stevie’s situation, his story was shared far and wide and the applications started rolling in! We knew from there that it wouldn’t take Stevie long to find his forever home.

In March 2026, Stevie found his forever home and his new owners shared these lovely words with us:

“Just to let you know Stevie has settled in so very well; he’s absolutely lovely; such a smashing personality and super chill! I think he’s as pleased as I am about his new home!”
