Recycling at Newcastle Dog and Cat Shelter: A Paw-sitive Approach to Sustainability

At the Newcastle Dog and Cat Shelter, our mission goes beyond providing a safe haven for our furry friends. We also strive to create a sustainable and environmentally conscious environment. One of the key ways we achieve this is through our commitment to recycling.

Visitors to our Benton Rehoming Centre will notice several recycling bins around site in three different colours. These bins are our recycling bins so please do pay attention to which bin is for which item when you are discarding rubbish. The more we can recycle, the better for the environment and the lower our cost for waste disposal.

So which bin is for what?

Blue – General Waste

Green – Mixed Recycling (plastic, cans and paper)

Red – Dog Waste Only
