Exhibition at Newcastle Library
We are delighted to announce that our history exhibition, titled “Paws Through Time: 130 Years Of Newcastle Dog and Cat Shelter”
The exhibition tells the story of 130 years of rescue, rehabilitation and rehoming. It includes information about how our sites have evolved, some of the challenges we’ve faced over the last 130 years, stories of some of the wonderful animals we’ve been able to help and of course stories of just some of the amazing people who have been influential in helping us get to where we are today!
As part of the exhibition, you’ll have the chance to meet members of our team and volunteers and learn more about the work of the Shelter.
Here are the dates and times when you can drop in for a chat:
28 April with our Volunteer Coordinator Lou – 10:30am to 12:00pm
5 May with our Animal Care Assistant Damian – 10:30am to 12:00pm
13 May with our Senior Rehoming Manager Jill – 10:30am to 12:00pm
20 May with our Volunteer Dog Walker Matty – 11:00am to 12:30pm
27 May with our Volunteer Dog Walker Matty – 11:00am to 12:30pm
“Paws Through Time: 130 Years Of Newcastle Dog and Cat Shelter” will be displayed on Level 2 in Newcastle Library until 28th May 2026.
