So, you’re looking for a new best friend to join your family? Great, you’re in the right place! Please read through the steps on this page to find out how our rehoming process works.

Step One: Fill in a form

We ask you fill in our application form as honestly as possible, providing as much information about your home and lifestyle as possible, and with an open mind. You then sit back and relax while our rehoming team get to work searching for your perfect match.

Step Two: Trust the process

Please be mindful this process can take a while and we do ask that you be patient. We are a very small team with limited resources and receive hundreds of applications forms every month. The most important thing when looking to rehome a new pet, is for you to be well matched to each other! We make every effort to set both our animals and rehomers up for success, and we wouldn’t be doing that if you want a dog to run marathons with and we match you with a couch potato! We know you would ‘rehome them all’ if you could…but let’s aim to find the perfect family member to suit your lifestyle…

If you have not heard from us, that simply means we have not yet found your perfect match!

Step Three: Potential match

Once we have found a potential match for your family, a member of the team will reach out to discuss your application in a little more detail, and to give you a ton of information about the specific animal we have in mind for you…then the fun really begins… You, and everybody in your household, will be invited down to the shelter for a socialisation. This will give you the opportunity to really get a feel for the animal we have discussed. A member of the team will introduce you to your potential new pooch, and you will be given the opportunity to go for a walk and have a play. The team will be on hand to answer any questions or queries you no doubt have.

Step Four: Foster

Once we all agree we have found the right match, we invite you to take them home for a foster trial. The truth is we simply no not know for sure how an animal will act once in a new home, so there’s only one way to find out… We support you throughout your foster and are on-hand for any help or advice you may need. Our foster trials can last 1 or 2 weeks, and at the ned of that time we will ask… are you ready to rehome?

Step Five: Make it official

Once you are certain your new family member is there to stay, we invite you back into our Rehoming Centre to sign the paperwork to make you adoption official! We will take your donation, transfer your animal’s microchip into your details, issue your four weeks free pet insurance provided by our friends at Petplan, and share with you a voucher for a free health check with our wonderful vets, Blythman & Partners. Congratulations, your rehome will then be complete and all that will be left from us is to wish you a very Happy Furever After
