Race details

The race starts at 9am where runners will head out along the promenade before finishing with a memorable lap of historic Roker Park. Whether you’re chasing a personal best or enjoying the atmosphere, this seaside 10k promises a stunning setting, smooth tarmac paths and a vibrant finish line experience. A perfect run for all levels. Included in your entry, you will receive a free race photo, chip timed results, a uniquely themed medal as well as a bag of post-race goodies.

Why should you run for Newcastle Dog and Cat Shelter?

• By running for us in the 2025 Great North Run, you’ll be supporting the work of Newcastle Dog & Cat Shelter and raising vital funds to go towards important costs like our veterinary bills, heating bills, food, and general animal care costs
• You will receive a Newcastle Dog & Cat Shelter running t-shirt or vest to wear on the big day to keep you cool and comfortable and help you look the part!
• You will receive an information pack with fundraising ideas to help you reach your target
• Our Community Fundraising Officer will be available to support your fundraising efforts every step of the way, aswell as answering any enquiries you may have.

You can join our team by registering for one of our charity places here. We ask that you raise a minimum of £200 through fundraising and sponsorship. Our registration fee* is £25.
