Race day will see you pound the pavements of the French capital’s most famous avenues and plazas.  Starting at the foot of the Arc de Triomphe, and finishing with views of Notre Dame and the Eiffel Tower to guide you home. Every year, this unique and spectacular setting attracts more and more entrants. There are now more than 23,000 runners from abroad, making up 40% of the field.

Why should you run for Newcastle Dog and Cat Shelter?

• By running for us in the 2025 Great North Run, you’ll be supporting the work of Newcastle Dog & Cat Shelter and raising vital funds to go towards important costs like our veterinary bills, heating bills, food, and general animal care costs
• You will receive a Newcastle Dog & Cat Shelter running t-shirt or vest to wear on the big day to keep you cool and comfortable and help you look the part!
• You will receive an information pack with fundraising ideas to help you reach your target, and our Community Fundraising Officer will be available to support your fundraising efforts every step of the way

To join team Newcastle Dog and Cat Shelter for the Paris marathon 2026, you can register for one of our charity places here. We ask that you raise a minimum of £700 through fundraising and sponsorship on your personal fundraising page which we will provide a setup link for, upon registration. Our registration fee* is £125
