Is your child aged 3-16 and wants to raise money for Newcastle Dog and Cat Shelter?

Join our Newcastle Dog and Cat Shelter team and take part in the biggest kids’ running event in Britain – The Mini and Junior Great North Run 2024. The 1.5km Mini Great North Run will start crossing the Swing Bridge, head along the Gateshead Quayside, and run across the Millennium Bridge before finishing at Newcastle Quayside. The 4km Junior Great North Run will also take you over the Swing Bridge, on a longer route through Gateshead, and also across the Millennium Bridge before finishing at Newcastle Quayside.

For your child to run for us, they must already have a place secured through the public ballot. There is no minimum fundraising target but set yourself a challenge to see how much you can raise!

In exchange for your child’s support, they will receive: a Newcastle Dog and Cat Shelter vest, a fundraising pack with everything needed to help them meet their goals, a personalised certificate from our Events team, and a general feeling of awesomeness knowing that they’ve helped the animals at Newcastle Dog and Cat Shelter. Children’s hoodies are also available, however these are purchased separately through our online shop.

(Vests will be free of charge to any child who raises £50+ otherwise a small fee will be required.)
