Join Team Newcastle Dog & Cat Shelter at the landmark 45th AJ Bell Great North Run in 2026, the worlds biggest and best half-marathon, starting in the city centre of Newcastle upon Tyne, taking you across the iconic Tyne Bridge through Gateshead, to the stunning coastline in South Shields.

By joining Team Newcastle Dog & Cat Shelter at the 2026 Great North Run, you will be supporting our work in providing care for hundreds of animals from across the North East whilst on their journey to their forever family. 2026 will mark our 130th anniversary, meaning we want to make our presence and team at the 2026 GNR our biggest and best yet!

You can either join our team by registering for one of our charity places or with your own place through the Great North Run ballot or membership. We ask that you raise a minimum of £300 through fundraising and sponsorship. Our registration fee is £65.
