Join our Newcastle Dog and Cat Shelter team and take part in the world’s biggest and best half-marathon – The Great North Run 2024. The 13.1 mile run will take you through Newcastle city centre, over the famous Tyne Bridge and to the coasts of South Shields. As well as the incredible supporters lining the course, there will also be unbeatable on-route entertainment, like the famous Red Arrows passing overhead!

You can either join our team by registering for one of our charity places for only £50, or with your own place that you’ve got through the public ballot for £62. As well as our £50 registration fee, we also ask that you raise a minimum of £250 by fundraising to really help with our work.

In exchange for your support, all runners will receive: a Newcastle Dog and Cat Shelter vest*, a fundraising pack with everything you need to help you meet your goals, support from our Events team who will answer any questions, and a general feeling of achievement knowing that you’ve helped the animals at Newcastle Dog and Cat Shelter. Hoodies are also available, however these are purchased separately through our online shop here.

(Vests will be free of charge to adults who meet their fundraising target. If the target of £250 is not met, a small fee will be required to cover the cost of your t-shirt or vest. The £50 registration fee is non-refundable once you have accepted your place at the event)

There are limited spaces available to run with us so sign up now to secure your spot on the start line with Newcastle Dog and Cat Shelter.
