Waffle is looking for an adult-only home. She could potentially live with another dog, but no cats or small animals.

Waffle is a sweet girl who unfortunately can find the world a bit of a scary place.

We suspect she hasn’t had an easy life before arriving here at the shelter and it took her a while to warm up to our team. Now she is a little more settled in, she has particularly bonded to one member of staff and is very affectionate towards her, however she does remain aloof and worried about other team members – she is happy to go for walks with them, but becomes uncomfortable if they attempt to give her any attention.

Waffle needs a special home – ideally who have experience of the Shar Pei breed, but at least with experience of very anxious dogs. She will take a few meetings with her new family before she is able to go home and will need someone who can offer her the time, patience, understanding and commitment that she needs and deserves.

Once Waffle is comfortable with you – she is a very loving girl who loves being made a fuss of. We have no doubt that she will make an incredibly rewarding companion for her forever family once she is able to fully relax and let her guard down in the safety and security of her forever home.

This sweet young girl has been so brave during her stay here at the shelter and she so deserves to finally know what it’s like to have the unconditional love of a forever family.
