Ivor could live with children aged 14+ and will require outdoor access.

Ivor is a wonderful lad who has been a pleasure to get to know during his stay with us here at the shelter.

He initially struggled to adjust to the shelter environment when he first arrived, but now that he’s found his feet, he has shown us what an affectionate and laid-back boy he is. He absolutely loves being made a fuss of off those he’s comfortable with and will lie, purring away, for as long as possible being brushed – he absolutely loves a good groom!

He is a sensitive little soul and can still be easily spooked by new things or loud noises, so he would be best suited to a calm and quiet home who can offer him the time, patience and understanding he needs whilst he adapts to his new surroundings. Given the great progress he’s made here at the shelter – we can’t imagine it will take him long to show his forever family what a loving boy he is!

Sadly, we have no background information on Ivor. He was handed in to the vets as a stray with a pretty significant wound to the side of his face – suspected to be a cat bite abscess. He wasn’t microchipped or neutered and it’s obvious that he’s an older chap. It is so heartbreaking to think of the tough time he has likely had on the streets, yet he is still such a sweet boy who has so much love to give.

Ivor is such a lovely character and he so deserves to finally know what a forever home feels like. To have a forever family who can spoil him rotten and show him what it feels like to be warm, safe and loved as he should’ve always known. Ivor’s story may not have been the kindest so far, but we have no doubt his remaining chapters are going to more than make up for the time he spent as an injured stray approaching his senior years.

Medical

As mentioned above, Ivor has required veterinary treatment for a cat bite abscess. He has also required a course of antibiotics for some soft stools. Whilst both are now resolved, any potential rehomers should be aware that they are likely to be classed as pre-existing conditions and won’t be covered by pet insurance. The rehoming team will discuss Ivor’s veterinary history in further detail with any successful applicants.
