Gizmo is looking for an adult-only home and will require outdoor access.

Gizmo is a sweet lady who, sadly, is really struggling with the shelter environment.

She currently spends all day hiding away and doesn’t yet want to interact with our staff, although she has recently begun to take some treats from us from the safety of her hiding space.

We know that this is not an accurate reflection of Gizmo’s true character, as her previous home said she would approach them for attention and even occasionally sit in their laps. So, unfortunately, it seems likely to be the shelter setting that Gizmo is finding difficult to cope with.

Gizmo has previously lived with a dog in her last home, but found this quite stressful, she has also previously lived with another cat, but they didn’t appear bonded at all. We feel that a home as the only animal may be best for Gizmo, so she can truly get comfortable in her new surroundings without having to worry about sharing her space or overcoming any other stresses, as a change in environment has already proven to be a lot for her to cope with.

Gizmo needs a calm and quiet home who can offer her the time, patience and gentle encouragement she needs whilst she finds her feet and learns to rebuild her confidence. We are sure that, once she is in the safety and security of a loving forever home, she will once again be able to relax and let her guard down and show her new family her true personality. We have no doubt that watching her learn to trust her new family members will be an incredibly rewarding experience for the family who can offer her the love and patience she deserves.
