About us
Who we are
Newcastle Dog & Cat Shelter has been helping dogs and cats across the North East since 1896.
We are here for dogs and cats across our region when they need us, providing safety, care and support, and helping each animal towards the best possible future.
Our mission is to improve the welfare of dogs and cats across the region through rescue, rehabilitation, rehoming, and community partnerships that promote education and responsible ownership.
From our Shelter at Benton North Farm in Newcastle, we care for dogs and cats from across the North East. We reunite lost animals with their families, find loving new homes for animals who need them.
Our objective
Our Vision
At the Shelter, our vision is a North East where every dog and cat is safe, cared for and has a loving home. Everything we do is guided by this ambition.
To continue working towards our vision and saving lives across the region, we rely on the generosity of the public and the support of local businesses through donations and fundraising. Together, we can ensure that every dog and cat has the care, safety, and home they deserve.
