Zippy could live with children aged 10+, he will need to be the only cat in the home. He would like a home where he is able to have some safe outdoor access.

Zippy is a big friendly boy who is full of character!

He is a very vocal and sociable lad, always chatting away to our staff and volunteers – asking for some attention! He enjoys lazing in his cosy bed and can appear a little aloof at times, but he just enjoys taking everything in – he’s always super interested in keeping an eye on what his humans are doing or what’s going on in the cattery!

Zippy absolutely loves to play, especially string toys that he can chase around and catch. Despite being 14 years old, he looks like a kitten when his playful side comes out – he’s such a fun lad to spend time with.

Zippy has spent some time in a foster home and his foster carers described him as an absolute delight to be around. They did report that he could become startled by some noises and did like to spend a lot of his time with his humans, so he would be best suited to a calm and quiet home, and to a family who are around a lot of the time to keep him company.

We have very limited background information on Zippy’s life prior to his arrival here at the shelter. We do know that he has come from a multi-cat household, however he has shown strong dislike to other cats in our care, so we believe he would be best suited to a home with no other cats. We also believe he was primarily an indoor-only cat, but had access to a catio and we feel he would enjoy some safe outdoor access again in his new home. Zippy would benefit from a home with experience / knowledge of the Savannah breed, or a family who are willing to do some research to help understand his needs.

Zippy has unfortunately spent almost 8 months here at the shelter whilst he underwent veterinary treatment to help get on top of a few medical issues. He has been such a lovely lad to get to know and makes firm friends with everyone he meets. This handsome lad is now more than ready to find his forever home, where he can spend his golden years spoilt rotten.

Medical

Zippy has required veterinary treatment for some medical issues whilst in our care including soft stools, urinary issues and a lump removal. Whilst most are now resolved, he is still currently on medication for his urinary issues and this is likely to be an ongoing and long-term treatment requirement. Any potential rehomers should be aware that these will be classed as pre-existing conditions and won’t be covered by pet insurance. The rehoming team will discuss Zippy’s veterinary history in further detail with any successful applicants.
