Hercules is currently under the care of the vet awaiting sign-off from his neutering procedure. We will gather application forms and contact the successful applicant one he is ready for rehoming.

Hercules could live with children aged 10+. He would like to be the only dog in the home, but could potentially live with cats or other small animals, although we have no history of his behaviour around such animals.

Hercules is a sweet and sensitive little lad who enjoys human company – when not following his nose!

When out and about on his walks, he absolutely loves sniffing and exploring his environment and can be quite independent – seeming to forget his humans are there! He will need to be kept on lead when out and about until he is able to show some more responsiveness to his humans in the outside world. He also has a stubborn streak – particularly if he wants to go a certain way!

When not on his walks – he enjoys spending time with his human friends and is an affectionate lad who will often seek attention and ask to be made a fuss of.

Hercules has shown some reactivity towards other dogs whilst in our care and so he will need owners who are capable and confident in managing this and who are committed to his training to help him develop some more appropriate behaviours.

Hercules arrived into our care as a stray in a bit of a sorry state. Despite this, although he was initially a little nervous when he first arrived, he has been a very tolerant lad for his treatments, including being bathed – although it was obvious he wasn’t a huge fan, he was still a well-behaved boy.

This handsome little chap is such a pleasure to spend time with and has so much love to give, despite the neglect he has clearly experienced prior to his arrival at the shelter. Although he will no doubt require some time, patience and consistency from his new family when he first goes home, we have no doubt he will make an incredibly rewarding addition and bring so much love to his lucky forever home.

Medical:

Hercules arrived into our care with inflamed skin and infected anal glands requiring veterinary treatment. Whilst now resolved, any potential rehomers should be aware that these are likely to be classed as pre-existing conditions and won’t be covered by pet insurance. The rehoming team will discuss Hercules’ veterinary history in further detail with any successful applicants.
