Mickey & Eric
2 years Arrival Date: February 2026 Cat Number: 4982 & 4983Mickey & Eric could live with children age 10+ and require an indoor-only home.
Mickey and Eric are a lovely bonded pair of brothers.
They were struggling when they first arrived and spent all their time hiding away so we moved them to a quieter area of the shelter. Since the move, they have massively grown in confidence. We saw that Mickey was the more confident out of the pair, he was quicker to make friends and didn’t hesitate to approach us to ask for attention. While Eric was a bit more reserved to begin with, he’s also really come out of his shell now.
Mickey & Eric are always waiting at the front of their pen meowing for you, they follow you around their pen even pawing at times for attention. They are very playful too, and love to chase anything you move around for them.
Mickey and Eric will need a quiet home to begin with where they can feel safe once again, but with how well they’re doing here this shouldn’t take long. They would love a home that can give them lots of playtime and attention.
Medical:
Mickey and Eric have both received some veterinary treatment in our care. Whilst they currently don’t require any veterinary treatment, if any further investigation or treatment is needed in the future, it will likely be excluded by pet insurance companies as a pre-existing condition. They both have had brown watery discharge from their eyes, treatment they’ve received hasn’t made much difference and our vet suspects it’s due to their face shape. At the moment they only require extra care with fur around their eyes, and regular eye wiping, but there is a likelihood that they will need further treatment in the future. Both brothers also arrived in our care with matted coats, and scabby skin from fleas, they’ve had a de-matt and flea treatment, and their skin and coats have been great since. Mickey also has a grade 1 heart murmur. Heart murmurs are common in cats, his is the lowest grade on the scale and isn’t causing him any problems. Grade 1 murmur can be stress related, however it will require monitoring and if any further investigation is required, it will also likely be excluded by pet insurance as a pre-existing condition.
We will discuss these further with any potential rehomers.
