Daisy
Daisy is a 17 year old Patterdale terrier that came to us on 19 June 2025 after being found as a stray. When she first came into the Shelter, she was understandably unsure of her new surroundings, though wary she was still keen to approach people. Due to her age and situation, she arrived with dental problems, several masses, signs of incontinence and slightly unstable hind legs. However, staff and volunteers were truly shocked to see how much energy the old girl still had!
Daisy needed close attention from our animal care team and ongoing support from our vets. Her treatment came to £853.65 and included monitoring her breathing, managing her mobility and addressing her dental concerns. She needed time before she could be fully signed off by our vets, which meant her stay at the Shelter was slightly longer than usual.
As she settled in, Daisy showed us her true character. Despite everything she was dealing with, she had bursts of energy that surprised everyone. She loved to jump up at staff for affection and was always happy to meet new people and she absolutely loved playing with her new friends.
In late July, Daisy met her forever family who took her into a foster home to give her some extra comfort while her vet checks continued. To the surprise of no one, Daisy won over the heart of her new owner immediately, and it was clear that Daisy had found her place. Daisy was officially rehomed on 18 November 2025 and in true Daisy fashion, she actually leapt onto the table during the paperwork signing!
