Belle could live with children aged 10+. She needs to be the only dog in the home, but could potentially live with cats or other small animals, although we have no history of her behaviour around such animals.

Belle is a delightful girl who is an absolute pleasure to spend time with.

She absolutely loves human company and adores being made a fuss of – she is a very friendly girl who is happy to say hello to everyone in the hopes that they might give her a stroke! She also will sometimes enjoy playing with toys – although being made a fuss of is definitely her priority!

This wonderful girl has genuinely not put a paw wrong whilst in our care, she has been well behaved when being bathed, walks nicely on the lead (most of the time!) and is generally just a polite and well mannered girl.

Belle, heartbreakingly, has had a rough start to life before her arrival here at the shelter. She has been used for breeding and has experienced neglect. Despite this, Belle still believes everyone is her best friend – she hasn’t let her bad experiences get her down.

We know Belle has previously lived with another dog and although she has shown that she can be comfortable with other dogs here at the shelter, she can sometimes get frustrated around them which can be displayed as reactivity. For this reason, we feel she would prefer to be the only dog in the home – but she may benefit from being socialised with other dogs when out and about. A family with experience of large-breed dogs would be beneficial.

Belle has required treatment for some medical issues whilst in our care, which – whilst now resolved, will require ongoing monitoring in the home. Any potential rehomers should be aware that these will be classed as pre-existing conditions and are likely to be excluded from pet insurance. The rehoming team will be happy to discuss Belle’s medical history in more detail with any successful applicants.

This lovely girl so deserves to finally be shown what life is really all about – being spoilt rotten and shown the unconditional love she should’ve always had. We have no doubt she will make an absolutely wonderful addition to her forever home and will return her family’s love and affection tenfold.
