Princess' arrival

Meet Princess, one of our ex residents and one of our many Troubled Tails! Princess’ Troubled Tail starts with her arrival to the Shelter in March 2025 after a change in her owner’s circumstances meant that they were unable to look after her anymore.

When she arrived at the Shelter, she was calm and affectionate from the start. She would seek out attention from staff and would cuddle up with them, but if anyone stood up too quickly, she would retreat into her pen and watch from a distance.

Health checks with our vets revealed that Princess had a heart murmur. Due to her age and ongoing condition, she was placed on welfare foster so she would have a more comfortable environment to live in while she waited for her forever home.

In foster care, she quickly settled. She was easy to care for and enjoyed a quiet life surrounded by gentle encouragement.

Despite her sweet nature, Princess waited months without a single application.

In June, she finally found her forever home.

Her new owner told us, “I was expecting a quiet, timid little thing that wouldn’t want to interact with us much in the beginning… she is a total diva. She insists on playing when we get up or come into the house, and she follows me everywhere.”

Princess now lives in a calm, loving home where she can enjoy her twilight years with the care and affection she deserves.
