Rusty – Dog Number 2574 – Age (approx) 1.5 years old – Akita Cross – Arrival Date – November 2022.

Rusty can be rehomed with children 16+ and could live with another dog, but no cats or small animals.

Rusty is a truly lovely girl who is adored by all the staff here at the shelter, she is always making us laugh with her silly, goofy ways and hilarious facial expressions!

Her behaviours are very puppy-ish still, she is very playful and excitable and has those typical, silly, goofy puppy mannerisms, she can also gently mouth your hand when over-excited or when wanting your attention! She adores spending time with her humans – she loves having a good run round and being made a fuss of. Rusty needs a family who are able to keep up with her energy levels and provide her with a healthy balance of mental and physical enrichment!

Rusty has been well-behaved when meeting other dogs whilst in our care. She is more nervous and hesitant to greet more boisterous / vocal dogs but will happily and politely greet other well-mannered dogs.

We feel that Rusty may be able to live with another well-mannered and suitably matched dog. As Rusty is still such a young girl it is important that she continues to have positive socialisation once in the home to ensure she keeps developing into a well-rounded adult dog.

Rusty was nervous and very timid when she first arrived in our care and, although she has come out of her shell massively, she can still find some situations a little overwhelming and nerve-wracking. It is essential that Rusty goes to a home who can continue building her confidence and further developing her socialisation.

Please note: due to limited resources we are unable to get back to everyone. If you do not hear from us you have been unsuccessful on this occasion.
