By joining Team Newcastle Dog & Cat Shelter at the 2026 Great North Run, you will be supporting our work in providing care for hundreds of animals from across the North East whilst on their journey to their forever family. 2026 will mark our 130th anniversary, meaning we want to make our presence and team at the 2026 GNR bigger and better than ever!

By joining Team Newcastle Dog & Cat Shelter, you will receive:

• A fundraising pack and support from our fundraising team throughout the year to smash your £300 fundraising target
• A Newcastle Dog & Cat Shelter running top to wear on the day to help you look the part whilst keeping you cool and comfortable
• Invitations to special events exclusive to our GNR team, where you will also have the opportunity to meet some of the wonderful animals in our care
• Access to our exclusive Facebook group, where you can connect with fellow runners, and find advice, support and tips on training and fundraising
• The option to buy a special commemorative hoodie as a reminder of your incredible achievement!
• Complimentary snacks and refreshments in our Newcastle Dog & Cat Shelter tent in the Charity Village at the end of the run, where our team will be ready and waiting to cheer you on and celebrate your achievement, along with professional sports massage therapists to help with your recovery

You can either join our team by registering for one of our charity places or with your own place through the Great North Run ballot or membership. We ask that you raise a minimum of £300 through fundraising and sponsorship. Our registration fee is £65*.
