We will continue to add new cats/kittens when they are ready for rehoming, however, due to limited resources, it could take up to 2-3 weeks to get back to successful applicants. If you haven’t heard from us within this time period, you have been unsuccessful on this occasion.
We are running on minimal staff so please keep checking this page for new cats/kittens, rather than contacting us via phone or email as all cats/kittens looking for homes will be posted to this page once they are ready.

Due to a national shortage of cat vaccinations, we are currently experiencing delays in rehoming some of our cats.
Newcastle Dog and Cat shelter aim to provide full vaccination for all our rescue cats as it is essential to protect individuals and facilitate herd immunity to limit the spread of infectious diseases.
This shortage and delay may mean that some cats are needing to leave the shelter without their full vaccination course.
If you are successfully contacted to rehome a cat from us, our rehoming team will provide further detail about the shortage and what it means for you and your new cat.
We are working on a solution to rectify this vaccine situation and aim to be able to fully vaccinate all future cats as soon as vaccine supply becomes available to us again.
