George – Cat Number 770 – Age (approx) 6 months old – Arrival Date October 2020
George is an outdoor cat who can be rehomed with kids age 7+.
George is sweet as pie! It only takes him a minute to suss out who you are and from there on he will be your new best friend. He adores attention and will be straight up on your lap given the chance. George loves his playtime and he can be a cheeky monkey and give your hands a nip when he gets carried away playing.
Despite him being so confident and affectionate with us, George is easily spooked and he is flighty with sudden movements. He is looking for a calm household that can offer him all the affection he desires and continue growing into a wonderful young man.
Whilst in our care George has received treatment for a condition called Campylobacter this is essentially a bacterium which causes food poisoning. It most commonly manifests in cats as diarrhoea. George is now clear of all symptoms, he has been tested negative for Campylobacter and no further treatment is currently required. Campylobacter is a bacterium that commonly lives in the gut of cats but can develop into illness at times of stress.
Once home George will need to be monitored for any periods of diarrhoea, as campylobacter can manifest itself in stressful situations, such as going into a new home. If any symptoms appear then his new owners will need to book George into the vets at the earliest convenience to discuss any need for treatment. Please note that insurance companies are likely to add an exclusion with this being a pre-existing condition. We would advise any potential rehomers to discuss this with a pet insurance provider of their choice.
