Oscar & Jasper

By | Cats

Oscar & Jasper – Cat Numbers 1610 & 1609- Ages (approx) 7 months old – Arrival Date September 2021

Oscar & Jasper are outdoor cats who can be rehomed with children age 10+.

Oscar and Jasper are a friendly and loving boys, they’re both young and curious though and find the world very exciting, so they often prioritise exploring their surroundings over being fussed. Jasper is more likely to stop to receive attention, but Oscar will want to have a play and explore first, before he settles down for a cuddle.

Oscar and Jasper are sweet boys who enjoy being stroked and they’re happy to receive a bit of fuss, but their attention span is short when it comes to cuddles and they’ll soon find something more fun to do and see. They love playing together, they often chase each other and play fight.

They would love a home with plenty of space to run around and play with one another but also a quiet area where they can have a little down-time. We feel that once they’re in a home with more opportunities to burn off their energy and have outdoor access, they will likely settle and may become more people-orientated too.

Tiny & Tank

By | Cats

Tiny and Tank – Cat Numbers 1543 & 1544 – Ages (approx) 5 months old – Arrival Date July 2021

Tiny and Tank are housecats who can be rehomed with older, cat-savvy children. Tiny and Tank will have to be the only cats in the home.

Tiny and Tank are a beautiful pair of young brothers, they were rehomed by us recently but have sadly come back into our care due to no fault of their own.

When Tiny and Tank first arrived in our care in July, they were suffering from cat flu, and one of our vets kindly took them on foster to help them recover and spoil them for attention until they were ready to be rehomed. She describes Tiny as fearless, but Tank is quite easily scared so he would do better in a quieter home. They are both very friendly and gentle, especially Tank once he’s got used to you and his surroundings.

Tiny is mischievous and full of energy, he is so playful and never stops! He loves attention but he’s more independent than Tank. Tank is a handsome black panther, it may take him a while to come around but once he does, he is super affectionate and is always head bumping, purring away and lookig for cuddles.

Tiny and Tank are very closely bonded so must be rehomed together.

Both brothers have been treated for cat flu. They don’t require any further treatment at the moment but as it is already in their system, it may cause future flare-ups. As it’s extremely contagious during a flare-up, they will have to be rehomed as housecats and sadly can’t be rehomed with other cats. Please note that this will likely add an exclusion to your pet insurance as a pre-existing condition.

If you are interested in rehoming Tiny and Tank, please fill out the application form below.

Betty

By | Cats

Betty – Cat Number 1613 – Age (approx) 8 years old – Arrival Date September 2021

Betty is an outdoor cat who could be rehomed with children age 14+.

Betty is a gorgeous and very social lady, she loves making new friends and she chats away for attention. Betty has the most interesting meow that you can always tell apart from the others in the cattery! Betty really loves the attention and she enjoys being stroked, she has a lovely loud purr and she nudges into your hands for more cuddles and rubs up against your legs for attention if you’re too busy trying to do something else.

Betty is an older lady who likes a quiet life, all she wants to do is have some cuddles and a snooze, so a home with older children where she can retire and have some peace would be best. Betty will make an excellent and very chatty companion to her new family, she is such a sweet cat that loves everyone she meets immediately.

Betty has a grade 3 heart murmur. Heart murmurs are quite common in cats, it’s not currently causing Betty any problems but it would be a consideration for any potential rehomers, if she did need any treatment in the future, it may be excluded by pet insurance as a pre-existing condition. We can provide some further information on heart murmurs, but we would also recommend discussing it with a vet.

If you are interested in rehoming Betty, please fill out the application form below.

Abi

By | Cats

Abi – Cat Number 1541 – Age (approx) 6 years old – Arrival Date August 2021

Abi is an outdoor cat who could live with children age 14+.

Abi is a vocal girl who always chats away for attention the second she sees you, she has to make sure you notice her and will come in for a cuddle. She really loves attention and adores being stroked, she’ll meow asking for attention until you give in. Abi also likes toys, especially her catnip mouse and will play with it for ages when she thinks no one is looking.

Abi would be best suited to a home with older children as she can be a bit grumpy when she wants to be alone and napping! She’s never lashed out but she has an array of noises to communicate she wants some alone time.

Abi’s been through a lot recently, when she came into our care she instantly needed medication for her eyes. Unfortunately this didn’t solve the issue and she had to have an operation, through it all she’s been her sweet, vocal self and although becoming tired of all the treatment and vet checks she is still a loving lady who loves to be around her humans.

Abi has undergone entropion surgery to correct her lower eyelids, they were rolling inwards resulting in the eyelashes scratching the cornea. She has now fully recovered from her surgery and her eyes are healing and don’t require any further treatment, however we would advise any potential rehomers to discuss this with pet insurance providers as it could add exclusions on her pet insurance cover as a pre-existing condition.

Abi has a grade 2 heart murmur. Heart murmurs are quite common in cats, hers is on the low end of the scale and isn’t currently causing any problems. It would be a consideration for any potential rehomers as if she did need any treatment in the future, it also may be excluded by pet insurance as a pre-existing condition. We can provide some further information on heart murmurs, but we would also recommend discussing it with a vet.

Alfie

By | Cats

Alfie – Cat Number 1562 – Age (approx) 15 years old – Arrival Date August 2021

Alfie is an outdoor cat looking for an adult only home.

Alfie is an adorable older chap, he has a very cute but grumpy looking face which sometimes makes it look like he doesn’t want to be bothered, but he’s actually always happy for us to go up to say hello and give him a little head scratch. He really likes being stroked, and after a little head scratch he will then start nudging into your hands for more fuss, and even drool a little sometimes.

Alfie is such a sweet lad once you get to know him, he’s an absolute pleasure to be around. He loves people and he’s always happy to have human companionship, otherwise he is a calm and quiet lad who likes to spend his day lying on the windowsill where he feels safe and comfy, and watching the world go by. Alfie is now looking for his retirement home with his own comfy bed and a view to enjoy, and a family that can spoil him with cuddles.

Ginge

By | Cats

Ginge – Cat Number 1499 – Age (approx) 11 months old – Arrival Date August 2021

Ginge is an outdoor cat looking for an adult only home.

Ginge is a beautiful boy who sadly hasn’t settled in our care. Ginge is very nervous, and he’s usually found hiding in his box or the bed, he is wary and will hiss on approach.

Ginge has allowed our staff to stroke him on occasion, but it’s still on his terms. It may be that it’s the shelter environment that’s spooked Ginge, we hope that he will grow in confidence once he’s in a loving home. Ginge will still need a patient home that will give him the time and space to settle and come out of his shell, and allow him to learn to trust people.

If you are interested in rehoming Ginge, please fill out the application form below.

Bella really likes attention and she finds it reassuring being gently stroked, and she’ll sometimes even enjoy a cuddle when you pick her up. Overall Bella is a calm and very sweet older lady who would love a quiet home that will help her feel safe in her surroundings, she has a curious and even playful side that no doubt will start showing more once she’s settled in a home environment.

Munster

By | Cats

Munster – Cat Number 1528 – Age (approx) 11 years old – Arrival Date August 2021

Munster is a housecat, he could live with children age 12+.

Munster was a little bit shy when he first arrived in the shelter, however it didn’t take him long to settle and show us what a wonderful, cuddly and curious gentleman he is. Munster has really come out of his shell, he loves all of our staff and will run right up at you for attention. He really loves to be stroked, and he’s equally happy to be picked up and he’ll often climb up to give you a hug or get on your shoulders to get closer.

It may take a bit of time for Munster to settle in his new home as he was shy to begin with, so his new owners will need to have some patience and understanding but once he’s had a chance to adapt to his new surroundings, Munster is so much fun to be around. Munster is looking for a home with older children as he likes to climb you and perform balancing acts on your shoulders, he’s not always the most mindful of his claws whilst doing this.

Luna

By | Cats

Luna – Cat Number 1620 – Age (approx) 10 months old – Arrival Date September 2021

Luna is an outdoor cat looking for a home with children age 16+. She would like to be the only cat in the home.

Luna is a gorgeous young girl, we are hoping that with time she will grow in confidence and that in the right home she will blossom into a confident cat.

At her young age prior to coming into the shelter, Luna has already been in two different homes that we know of, so it’s understandable that she is a bit unsettled. She has been quite shy and wary of people in our care, given a bit of time to get used to you she will let us stroke her and show us that she is enjoying a cuddle, however it can be on her terms. Luna’s previous owners described her as an independent cat, who could benefit from having a lot of outdoor access perhaps in a rural setting where she can explore and hunt.

Luna does have an affectionate sweet side, and she is still a young girl gaining her confidence, so we believe that in the right home she will become a happy, settled cat. Luna would like a home that can offer her plenty of outdoor access as well as some snuggles once she’s ready for them.

If you are interested in rehoming Luna, please fill out the application form below.

Bandit

By | Cats

Bandit – Cat Number 1527 – Age (approx) 11 years old – Arrival Date August 2021

Bandit is a housecat looking for an adult only home.

Bandit is a beautiful chap who didn’t take very lightly to the change of coming into the shelter. For a while he was very unsettled, and spent his days hiding in his igloo bed, hissing if we got too close. He has come around in leaps and bounds, and treats are a great way to win him over. He still sometimes feels nervous and may hiss, but once offered treats he’ll happily take them from your hands, and he’ll even come out for cuddles and nudge into your hands for more fuss once he feels comfortable around you.

Bandit’s previous home described him as a loving lap cat and now that he’s letting his guard down, we’ve seen with our own eyes what a sweet boy he really is. Given a bit of time to settle in his new home, Bandit will make a wonderful addition to his new family.

Bandit has a grade 1-2 heart murmur. Heart murmurs are quite common in cats, his is on the low end of the scale and isn’t currently causing any problems. It would be a consideration for any potential rehomers as if he did need any treatment in the future, it may be excluded by pet insurance as a pre-existing condition. We can provide some further information on heart murmurs, but we would also recommend discussing it with a vet.
