Customer Service & Events Officer
 
Friendly, outgoing people required to join our busy team.

Experience of providing outstanding customer service would be an advantage.

5 days out of 7 on a rota basis. 

Must be flexible and able to work a variety of shifts including some unsociable hours.

14,040 per annum, over 21 and full driving license essential.

The Newcastle Dog and Cat Shelter is dedicated to the welfare and rehoming of stray and unwanted animals.

Volunteers help our charity in a variety of roles, playing an important part in achieving our goals.  We are looking for applicants to fill the following roles.

Volunteer Shop Assistant

Location

Newcastle Dog and Cat Shelter, 225 Chillingham Road, Heaton, Newcastle upon Tyne, NE6 5LJ

Hours

Various (Negotiable)

We are currently looking for volunteers who can help support our busy team in our Charity Shop.

Jobs may include:

-       Accepting and sorting donations

-       Steaming, ironing, folding and hanging clothes

-       Cleaning household and various other items

-       Replenishing stock 

-       Assisting Customers

Person Specification:

-       Approachable

-       Team player

-       Good communication skills

 
Volunteer Administration Assistant

Location

Newcastle Dog and Cat Shelter, 225 Chillingham Road, Heaton, Newcastle upon Tyne, NE6 5LJ

Hours

4 hours per week (negotiable)

We are currently looking for volunteers who can help support our busy team with important administration tasks.

Jobs may include:

-       Counting collection boxes and cash donations

-       Sending thank you letters to supporters

-       Filing information and thank you letters

-       Helping pack and frank yearly magazine ‘Shelterlife’

-       Gift Aid administration

-       Answering the telephone and taking messages or passing calls to relevant staff

Person Specification:

-       Good computer skills

-       Polite telephone manner

-       Team player

-       Good written communication skills

 
Volunteer Events Assistant

We are currently looking for volunteers who can help support our busy team by attending various events and collections.

Jobs may include:

-       Collections in Supermarkets, pet shops and shopping centres

-       Tombola’s and Bric’ a Brac stalls at organised events

-       Handing out information and organised events and collections

-       Helping pack and frank yearly magazine ‘Shelterlife’

-       Attending outdoor events such as Great North Dog Walk and Great North Run

-       Good communication skills

-       Flexible
